Two new members gave their classification talks last week.
 
Rose Chojnacki – New Member Classification
 
Rose Chojnacki – was born in Germany to German and Polish parents, emigrated to Canada in 1953 and was helped by the Salvation Army to settle into Canada. Started school with no English and had the task of not only learning but also teaching English to her parents. Started her career in insurance and later moved on to Hitachi a Japanese company where she spent most of her working life.  Started out as a bookkeeper and worked her way up to being CFO of Hitachi Canada. Rose is now retired after 40 years of service with Hitachi. Her career took her on travels extensively to Japan and the US, she considers her time with Hitachi to be a blessing. Rose gave thanks to Luisa for introducing her to Rotary and to volunteering at the Foodbank. Rose is now an advocate of the foodbank and very supportive of Regen.
 
Monsoor Mirza – New Member Classification
 
Monsoor Mirza – Husband, father Real Estate professional. Immigrated to Canada from Punjab Pakistan
Completed education in Pakistan -from primary to university level master’s in applied mathematics - Started his career teaching mathematics before moving to Canada. Started out in Canada working in a restaurant and doing tutoring with University of Toronto students. Eventually went to work at Pizza Hut – worked his way up to manger and created a training program for new hires, his progress continued in training until he left the role to become a Pizza Pizza franchise owner and later to work in the mortgage industry. From that industry he went into family and later into full time real estate.
 
Community involvement – Is also as diversified as his career, member Of the Adopt a Park program, Brampton Board of Trade, Real Estate education, Readale Soccer club, Teaching Grade 9-10  mathematics, Parent Council for his children’s school. COVID volunteer dedicated to servicing the elderly and single parents for food drop off during the pandemic.
