Luisa gave a summary of the Inbound Exchange Student training weekend held in Woodstock.
Our Inbound Jennifer from Taiwan will give her presentation about the country of Taiwan on September 16th before our guest speaker, so the meeting will start at noon instead of 12:30.
Sandra will send out a rsvp for the Poor Boys Luncheon at Century Gardens. The RC of Brampton is the host of the meeting so please register and sell tickets to your friends and colleagues to help with this fund-raising event

September 29th is the annual fall Coin Show. Volunteers are needed, and if you are not volunteering, you are requested to come and enjoy the show.
Rotary Leadership Institute is being held Saturday October 19th but those new to Rotary in the last two years will have their registration costs waived.
Past President Glen provided us with some information regarding the Brampton Official Plan for the Rotary Glen property and encouraged any Rotarians interested to attend the council meeting where this would be discussed.
John Sanderson introduced Rotarian Bali Singh who he knew when Bali served as Brampton Board of Trade Treasurer 2004-2006.
Bali outlined his childhood in British Guyana, where he dropped out of school at the age of 12 to support his family after his father passed away. At 17 he became an apprentice with the Post Office which was near a high school. Bali arranged to borrow textbooks from some of the teachers and tutored himself to write High School exams. He completed a correspondence certificate course in Accountancy and then was transferred to the Head Office of the Post Office as a Junior Accounting Clerk. In 1988 he moved to Ottawa, Canada where he studied at Algonquin College. Then he moved to Toronto and earned his CGA and his Masters in Business Administration.
He worked as a CFO and a Controller before starting his own Accounting Practice in 2003. Bali founded and chaired The Canada Caribbean Business Council from 2006-2009. In 2009 he received the Small Business of the Month Award from the Brampton Board of Trade.
