Nick Larter
Monday January 11th  RC of Brampton

31 present, with the return of our exchange student Viktoria from Slovakia and John Lomax,  recently re-retired,  who brought Marilyn Lomax as his guest.

Jim Inglis, proved again this week that it is better late than never and our Sergeant-at-Arms fined Mari-Anne Tate for pointing out this.  Jane Pilot was also fined for making mention of appearing in the newspaper.
All men and women not wearing ties were also fined.

The guest speaker was our new member Nick Larter, who may be new to the RC of Brampton, but certainly not new to Rotary.
In fact Nick has done a classification talk for Rotary five times. Nick believes Rotary has provided him with many opportunities to develop himself personally and professionally.

His first introduction to Rotary was in Acton where he was transferred  as the second location in his career, which began in Brampton at Scott's Funeral Home.

In Acton Nick served as club president, the same year Norm Bindon was president of the RC of Brampton.

When Nick's career required a transfer  to Toronto he was a member of two clubs,  first The Toronto Beaches club  and then the RC of Toronto.
Nick served on many varied committees during his time as a Rotarian in Toronto, even participating on the District Conference committee and taking the District Leadership Training . At the RC of Toronto he was a member of a Senior Citizen's Committee whose mandate was responsible for supporting services and programming for the purpose of improving the quality of life for disadvantaged seniors in the community, the homeless, under-housed and shut-ins, the most vulnerable to the economic, social and environmental challenges of a metropolitan city.

From his  passion for the beautiful automobiles of British funeral services to the many advisory committees such as the Infectious Disease Planning Committee for pandemic planning, Nick has had many varied experiences as a result of his career.
Nick's  career path has come full circle back to Scott's Funeral Home as Manager.

The RC of Brampton welcomes Nick and looks forward to his expertise as an experienced Rotarian.
