Madhur (Mike) Shrestha

Mike came to us from Nepal, he has over 20 years experience in information technology and has been a Rotarian for eleven years.
Mike was very smart; however, he had a challenging childhood. He is from Nepal, one of the poorest and smallest countries in the world. If you have a bicycle you are considered rich. Nepal is also one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Mike had a simple life; once his life was very sad, he was rejected by family and society. In life you just need a little pat on the back to change. Mike got that pat and after that, he worked and studied very hard. While studying, Mike’s father passed away. His father was the breadwinner of the family. His father’s friend in Germany helped him with the continuance of his education. Mike supported 18 children before coming to Canada and has given scholarships to many children. He was very active in the Rotary Club of Lalitpur, Nepal. Mike has visited Rotary International Convention three times. Later in his life, money was never an issue. Success is a state of happiness, one little hand can change people’s lives, let’s help if we can. We are all good people, we have a heart and we want to give back and somebody out there needs you.
