Cheque for Sheridan

The Rotary Club of Brampton has contributed $250,000 to support the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies (CAMDT) at the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. On Monday we presented the cheque to Dr. Robert Turner President and CEO, Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.

The state-of-the-art centre is designed to train students and workers in the latest design and manufacturing technologies and this mandate fits Rotary objectives to support and enhance both youth and business.
"This is a sizeable contribution for our club but we felt the new centre represents a tremendous opportunity for young people in our community and it will help to service an emerging shortage of skilled trades as well," said Ed Boonstra, president of the Rotary Club of Brampton.
Boonstra says the gift to Sheridan is part of the club's belief in "working together to make our community better."
"We believe it's important to support our community and Sheridan's new centre touches two of our primary areas of interest - supporting youth and business."
