Building partnerships

Jerrold Karch of the Peel District School Board spoke on the partnerships between employers and high school students. Two of the pathways that students can take today are the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and co-op programs.

The OYAP system gives the high school student personalized placement in the area of interest of his or her choice. They are mentored and monitored throughout the program. It gives the student a chance to experience the "real job" situation.
