Breakfast for Kids

Breakfast for Kids builds and strengthens partnerships and creates a network of support for schools and volunteers operating breakfast programs within the Region of Peel, says Jonathon Charron, who operates the program.
Breakfast for Kids started in 1993 as a community partnership program. There are now 40 programs operating in Peel.
"The issues vary from economics, to long bus rides and commuting parents where children don't have time to eat. We don't judge. We do know that academic achievement is impacted significantly when children eat breakfast," says Jonathon.
The program provides breakfast for any child who wishes to attend regardless of circumstances. It is supported by donations from the community, businesses, service and corporate sponsors. The program is staff by volunteers, parents, community groups, secondary school students, corporate and service club representatives.
