Bereaved Families of Ontario is a Provincial-wide name with 11 affiliates that provide great support for those who have lost loved ones. They offer programs for age six and up. There is no Government funding, they depend solely on grants. They do not charge a fee for service.At the BFO, you will find respectful listening and a non-judgmental environment where you are given the space to discover your own special way of understanding or living with the death of your loved one, says Gaye Routhier Paige.
When the client first call, BFO will talk for about an hour to find out about the person that they lost, the age and date of death, then they partner them with one and one and then go on to share and support, meeting twice a month. People stay until a closed group becomes available. They never have a wait list as there is always a service that can be provided. Different closed groups include:

-loss by suicide
-mixed loss (co-worker, friend)
-parental loss group
