Anton's year in Rotary
Anton, or more correctly Antonin Allamond, our club's Rotary Exchange Student from France, gave an excellent presentation on his year in Canada. With a pictorial powerpoint presentation, Anton described his most memorable activities. His best friends were the fellow Rotary Exchange Students of our District which met and bonded at their periodic get togethers.
Anton's Mother is an Architect, and Anton proudly stated that she designed their own house, and showed some outside pictures. His father is a dental surgeon, and Anton has two younger brothers, one who will commence his own year as a Rotary Exchange student, starting in September.
This summer was a great across Canada trip which Anton states he will remember the rest of his life. His pictorial journey was informative and showed the humour and comradry amongst the participating Rotary Exchange students.
President Jim thanked Anton for his great Rotary Ambassador role and wished him the best for the future. As a momento of our club, Jim gave Anton "Diana's Wig" from the acclaimed Rotary Sock Hop of earlier this year.
A special thanks was extended to Chris Frank and family for hosting Anton for not 3 months but most of the whole year. His dedication and support of Rotary youth is a definite example of Rotary "Service Above Self".
