Ambassadorial Scholarship Applications
Rotary District 7080 invites applications for the 2012/13 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship. Applicants must have completed at least two years of university at the time of application. All applicants must be residents within the District boundaries or their parents normally reside within the District. Rotary Club members or their descendents are ineligible to apply. There are no age or gender restrictions on Ambassadorial Scholarships.
The scholarship is for one academic year at a study institution assigned by The Rotary Foundation Trustees for study outside of North America. Because the scholarship is limited to one academic year, it may not be possible for the recipient to earn a degree or diploma during the study year. The award of up to $25000 U.S. is intended to help cover tuition fees, room and board, limited language training and miscellaneous expenses.
The Ambassadorial Scholarship program supports the mission of The Rotary Foundation – to further international understanding and world peace. During the study period, scholars are expected to be outstanding ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country through both informal and formal appearances before Rotary clubs and other organizations. After the study year has been completed, scholars share their experiences with the people of their home countries and with local Rotarians that sponsored them. The 2012/13 Ambassadorial Scholarship will be awarded for study and or training after July 1, 2012.
The District Scholarship committee will select one candidate from District 7080, which operates from Mississauga to Ingersoll and to Orangeville in the North.
