ImageA Celebration of Robbie Burns!
1759-1796

The meeting kicked off with an interpretation of the Australian National Anthem in honour of our exchange student, Tessa Fitzgerald followed by the Canadian National Anthem.  Of course, no celebration of Robbie Burns is complete without a toast to the baird by our very own Matthew MacSamatas.   Robert the Cranch delivered a heartfelt tribute to Bob McIntyre, the heart and soul of our club's Robbie Burns dinners, recalling Bob's spirit of kinship and his determination in whatever he put his mind to.
Lassie Carole McBerry led us through a Celtic grace, which was followed by the highlight of the event, being the Piping in and Address to the Haggis!  Past Rotarian, Dave McDougall and retired Capt. Paul Federico put on quite a show for us with Denis and Carole taking part as well.
After our lunch, Lassie Vanora McSpreeney recited "Ode to a Mouse" and wee Denis McStephensen followed with some Scottish humour.  The meeting was closed with a sing-song of "Auld Lang Syne".

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
In days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne.
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
