2nd annual summer barbecue

Children's Barbecue at Ching Park

Dear Fellow Rotarians

In mid August we held our 2nd Summer BBQ Party at Chinguacousy Park for children and their families of Kerry's Place and Easter Seals, with 90 in attendance.

On behalf of Luisa Mocon and myself, we would like to thank all of those who volunteered and gave of their time and energy to this event.

We would like to thank the Fire and Police Departments for providing their officers, trucks and vehicles for the children and families to enjoy.

We are very grateful to Gayle and John Wilding

for picking up and serving the food for the BBQ and providing us with TIM HORTON'S COFFEE & MUFFINS for all the volunteers, to Wendell Brown and Malcolm Slater for providing BBQ duties, to Vanora Spreen for providing all the games for the children to participate in and assisted by members of the Rotaract Club, Interact Club from David Suzuki School, Luisa's friend, Tina and Jayne Pilot, to Ken Spreen, David Clement, John Digby and Johanna our new exchange student from Germany for set up/clean up, to Dittie Voegele and Rita Gayle for doing attendance and registration. We are especially grateful to Carole Berry who was doing double duty between our event and the Brampton A's Basketball 3 on 3 Tournament. We wish we had a third of your energy and appreciate you so very much. Finally, we want give Luisa Mocon a special thank you for all her hard work and organizational skills.
