Igniting the spirit!
Betty Jo Parent, Manager, Logistics Support of the Pan Am Games attended our Rotary meeting to bring us up to date on next year’s games. Betty Jo is a member of the Mississauga West Rotary Club. She is also a past Rotary Exchange Student (1979-1980) when she went to Australia. Betty has been with the Pan Am games since January 2014.
“The People’s Games” will be intimate, authentic, accessible/affordable and financially responsible. 41 countries will be participating in the Pan America games between July 2015 and August 2015. There will be:
Tremendous experience, good for young people looking at boosting their resume, 19 countries Spanish speaking. Between ages 16-18, parental consent will be needed. There will be 51 functioning areas and all of them will require volunteers.

The games are more than just sports, it’s engaging for youth, inspiring for children.

This game will have more money than any other Pan Am Game. CIBC is the lead sponsor; they will man the call centre. We are looking forward to an exciting experience in our wonderful City of Toronto.
