The Out of the Darkness Community Walk, organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), is an incredible event that aims to raise awareness about suicide prevention, support those affected by suicide loss, and promote mental health. By joining Team RotaryHPH, you'll be contributing to these important initiatives while having a fantastic time with fellow members and friends.

Why should you join our team?

  1. Make a Meaningful Impact: Your participation and contributions will directly support AFSP's research, education, advocacy, and support programs, making a significant impact in the fight against suicide.
  2. Foster Community Spirit: Walking side by side with our fellow Rotarians and friends, we'll strengthen our bonds, promote a sense of unity, and demonstrate our commitment to supporting one another.
  3. Embrace the Outdoors: Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Skygate at Frank Fasi Civic Center Park as we walk together, soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the fresh Hawaiian air. It's a perfect opportunity to engage in physical activity for a great cause.
  4. Spread Awareness: By participating, you become an advocate for suicide prevention, helping to break down stigmas surrounding mental health and encouraging open conversations within our community.

Whether you're an experienced walker or new to this type of event, we welcome everyone to join us. No matter your age or fitness level, your presence and enthusiasm will make a difference. Even if you can't attend the walk, you can still support our team by making a donation to the cause. Every dollar counts and brings us closer to a future with fewer lives lost to suicide.

To join Team RotaryHPH or make a donation, please visit the AFSP event page:

Be sure to select "Join Our Team" or "Donate" to show your support. We encourage you to spread the word to your family, friends, and colleagues, as they are more than welcome to join us too!

Let's show our community what RotaryHPH is all about—making positive change, one step at a time.

Together, we can create a world where no one feels alone, and where mental health is prioritized and supported.

If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out to Lynn Goya. We're here to assist you every step of the way.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to walking alongside you on September 9th!
