Larry Hoof (right) recognized a Paul Harris Fellow plus 2 (left) at our January 25, noon meeting by saying…

“One of the measures of greatness in America is the ability to achieve remarkable levels of success by running a business providing needed services to benefit the people in the community we live in. Another measure is what a person gives in time, energy and money to good effect for that community and beyond.
As Rotarians, we understand this. As Rotarians, we also like... to recognize success and achievement and contributions by invoking the name of Rotary’s inspiration: Paul Harris.
Perhaps you’ve watched the Golden Globes or the Academy Awards where the winners provide a long list of people who deserve recognition for their support and contributions to the success of the recipient. The most eloquent and deserved ‘thanks’ is shared among many, not just the person on the stage with the statuette.

This is not the Golden Globes, nor is it the Academy Awards, but the message today is very much the same.

When informed of the new pin representing what we call the Paul Harris plus two, our member declared that it really ought to be shared with those who have inspired him to make meaningful and important financial contributions to the Rotary Foundation. That would include all of you as fellow members of this worldwide organization and those of you who have also been his customers throughout the years.

I am thrilled to be able to introduce the person who has also served this club as Foundation Chair. Here to receive the Paul Harris Plus 2 pin is Paul Rasmussen!”
