Friends of Rotary and their partners are very welcome.

Hanna let us know what she was up to this week, seems she had a ball helping at the Mullewa Muster and worked very hard. She only has 5 weeks left in Australia, so get in quick to catch up with her before she goes! Alas she is selling her surfboard, too expensive to take back to Austria! (I gather the surf is not good there anyway!! -ed)

Jim Dillon gave a report on the Muster: 3500 people and boy did they DRINK!

The heavy security and police presence mostly kept order. Helpers from the two Rotary Clubs and our friends of rotary did a brilliant job and $5K was the result to be shared with the two clubs for running the bar.

(Interesting it cost the organisers $70K for security and only $5K for the bar staff!!-ed) Overall, Jim felt it was better run this year, but finished a little earlier due to the rain.

It was noted that the boot scooters seemed to take over a lot of territory and the music got a bit Western monotonous. (Perhaps a little classical next year? Rossini’s William Tell Overture may work, “Hi Ho Silver!” -ed)

Recovering from the massive boot scooting effort, Jo led the fines. Our poor retired surgeon took a hammering as did the doc. A great fundraising effort! Yeeha!
