President's Announcements.
- Update on Rotary WA Driver Education programme run at Nagle Catholic College on March 17th. Bob Hall commented that it was a great success. Story with photos in next Newsletter
- "Journey of Beginning" exhibition of homeless people's art will be shown at WA Museum in Geraldton. We contributed $5,000 to make this happen. See details in Newsletter
- Apprentice of the Year is being promoted. Rob Mosel will be our go to person. Tentatively scheduled for June 14, 2026
- Rotary Youth Exchange. Amy Price from Geraldton Grammar was going to host Esther, our current inbound exchange student, but is now moving to Perth. We need another host family starting mid-April until early July Contact Hugh Lavery
- NB We also need another four host families for our next inbound student for 2026-27.
- Legacy Golf Day is on 25th April (Anzac Day) at Geraldton Golf Club. We need a team leader to manage the day. Let Hugh know if you can lead this event.
- Bob Hall went to GUC on March 19th for the scholarship announcements. We have contributed $5,000 this year. A final year Bachelor of Education (teaching) student, Maryka Connolly, is the recipient. We hope to have her at one of our meetings in the near future.
- Hugh is overhauling the way our newsletter is presented.
- Hugh provided a medical update on his health and his battle with the pseudomonas bug. On the outside he looks normal, on the inside he is taped up like an Egyptian mummy!
