Let me take this opportunity to congratulate immediate Past President Tom and his Board for their year.  The past year threw some curve balls but Tom, you finished this year as you started, with enthusiasm, patience, and dedication!  On a personal note, I thank you Tom for providing continuing support as I head into this role.

To my new Board, congratulations and thank you for stepping into your respective positions.  I am grateful for your support and I look forward to an exciting year of service with you all.  Rotary’s motto Service above Self will continue to be my guidepost, as I head into this year as your President.

As Winston Churchill said “we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”.

Landor Races - Fundraiserng

Fantastic effort

PHIL MARTIN gave a summary of the creative events at the LANDOR race meeting.  Almost $6000 was raised from the sale of CLOTHING items (TSHIRTS etc).    PHIL gave a big “THANK YOU” to all the ROTARIANS and friends who made the long journey to LANDOR and helped make CGG TEAM LANDOR one of the most efficient bar troupes this side of the BLACK STUMP!   The financial windfall to our Clubs coffers is estimated as being well in excess of $20,000.  A job well done by our TEAM LEADER, PHIL and all the members of our CGG LANDOR TEAM!!

Legacy Golf Day

Legacy:

Pres Tom presented Jeff Klar from Legacy with a cheque for $5,000 from our Legacy Golf Day. Over the years Rotary Club of Geraldton-Greenough has raised some $180,0,00 for Legacy.

Jeff told us that Legacy started in 1928. In WA there are 3,700 partners of Legacy. In the Geraldton area there are one hundred war widows who come under Legacy's 'care'. The Geraldton area extends from Kalbarri to Three Springs.
