Radio Auction - November 3rd, 2024
Rotary Club of Greater Geraldton's Annual Radio Auction began with calls to potential sponsors last week and will continue for some weeks to come.
Members and Friends of the Rotary Club of Greater Geraldton and members of the Inner Wheel Club of Geraldton, gathered at the Geraldton Golf Club on Thursday to make hundreds of calls for the 37th offering of the popular event that this year will be staged on November 3.
Auction chief organiser Bob Symington said it was a “terrific response to the initial calls”.
“Most people offered to renew their pledges without hesitation, so we are hoping to better the $37,000 we raised last year on the big day.
“This allowed us to distribute this money to so many worthy causes in the community. And there was the added bonus for the public to bid on items at well below cost.
“Some people said we were the only organisation they support each year because it is such a worthy cause.”
