Karen Godfrey formally introduced Rosetta Finlay from the QE 2 Centre.
Rosetta gave us a short history of the QE2 Centre and its importance to the Geraldton Seniors community.
The centre has 1200 registered members. There are about 6000 seniors in Geraldton and the population is ageing.
There is a wide range of activities and groups to cater for everybody. The latest activity is “Pickleball”, a cross between badminton and tennis, played on a badminton sized court.
An important service is the Resource Centre which provides information and counselling facilities to assist seniors.
Seniors Week is from the 6th – 13th November, supported by the Council For the Ageing with many activities and awards.
They have a monthly newsletter, QE2 Seniors Scene, which is full of information.
There is a Facebook page : Over 50’s Geraldton Life.
The QE 2 Centre is  multi functional  catering for community events as well as seniors activities.
