Guest Speaker, Peter Moore introduced by Phil!

Peter is an honorary member of our club and a retired Federal Police Officer who served in East Timor. He retains strong links to that country and its people.
Peter came across Bicycles for Humanity in Perth some years ago, and as he had experience of repairing and selling bikes in his youth to buy his first car, he thought he would give it a crack!
So, it began with 100 bicycles sent to Perth, and as they say the rest is history! Since then, he and his team of volunteers have restored 1935 bicycles!! Fantastic effort !! The latest shipment was a container load sent to East Timor, with Rotary support, specifically for rural areas. It is sent with spare parts and the container becomes the workshop.
Peter is fortunate to have “Lucky Cheryl” to do all the books for him and be tolerant to their backyard being taken over! Of course, he is planning the next container load and will be looking to our support again! Peter was thanked by Bob Urquhart!<------Photo Caption: Peter being congratulated by PP Jo Clarke
