Unfortunately, our guest speaker today was not well and had to postpone. As a result, Pres Geoff took the opportunity to lead us in an open discussion on all things Rotary.
We are now in a new era of Rotary leadership with a new district.
Geoff raised some questions. Are you satisfied with what Rotary is doing for you?
If not, what do we need to change? What will it take for you to really WANT to come to Rotary?
Geoff indicated we will make more meetings available to RSVP in Clubrunner up to eight weeks in advance. Please RSVP for our meetings, this is critical for catering.
Other news from Geoff: PP and charter member of the RC of Geraldton Greenough, Geoff Watson, is taking six months leave. He has sold his business and is now retired.
Dave is progressing the redevelopment of the Wishing Well now in advanced stages of planning. We expect this will be a landmark worth visiting!
Jo is working on a “Friends of Rotary” list. These are people who don’t see themselves as Rotarians (YET!) but who often offer us assistance. This will include some past Rotarians as well who continue to support us.
Laurie did an impromptu Rotary Corner to encourage us to look out for and suggest potential guest speakers, and to keep up to speed with our major events including the upcoming Radio Auction. That damned Collingwood supporter took the wine AGAIN! We all reckon there is something sus going on!!
Pres Geoff pointed out some problems we are experiencing with our present venue at the Geraldton Club. Amongst several issues discussed of particular concern is the lack of disabled access and facilities. A robust discussion ensued! Watch this space!
A short fines session with fines on Jason for losing emails, Geoff for his hangover after a big night with an old mate, Terry for being retired 27 years, Suki, for the wine and just because, Laurie for making a quid out of Phil for numerous air cons and lastly, Shirley for channelling Russell while he is in Japan! (Forget Russell, we expect Shirley to show regardless!! Ed)
Don’t forget, Vocational Visit next week at 30 Knots Distillery! RSVP please!!!!
