Our last meeting was a Club Business Meeting and Members have been sent a copy of the meeting notes.
Some highlights include:
Funding Applications:
SES: A n application for $2000 was received to provide a Hazardous Chemicals cabinet . After a brief discussion it was moved Don Rolston, seconded Russell McKinnon that the funds be granted. Unanimous.
Hana Lind: A request from Hana to participate in a TAFE Hospitality Course as part of her Yr 12 studies. Don and Nadeem spoke positively about the opportunity and experience. Moved Don Rolston, seconded Jim Dillon that the decision be delegated to the President to authorise funding to $500 for the course.
Geraldton City Band: Each year the Club donates $1000 to the band after the Seniors Afternoon Tea. Reports say that the band is struggling financially and needs assistance. After discussion about the importance of the band to the community and its history, it was decided that for THIS YEAR the Club increase the donation to $5000. ($1000 + $4000). The President is to meet with the Band’s Treasurer to discuss their position and our offer and report back for a decision.
Don Rolston advised that Smith Sculptures had been awarded the Order of Australia.
Suki organised the raffle which was won by the President !!

Its my first day back from leave and I wanted to touch base to let you know I’ve received many positive comments on the event –“ very enjoyable, singing was fantastic, great atmosphere, loved the City band and the Aussie themed food “
