Guest Speaker Harry Taylor (retired Geelong AFL premiership player) Manager of Geraldton Golf Club :
Harry carries a journal with him at all times. He has created 155 books so far. He started when he was ei
ght. As a father and a husband he writes down what the day has been like. There is no structure, he just writes.
He describes himself as an overthinker, so writing helps slow down his thoughts e.g it helped him understand a game of football he had just played.
He says managing the Geraldton Golf Club is one of a number of projects he has.
He say it is important when writing a journal to focus on what and NOT why. It is important to focus on what you are going to do tomorrow. He believes he has received considerable benefits from journaling. It is a way of reflecting. We all need to find something that works for us. It could be going for a walk or taking a drive.
