A very informal meeting was opened by Jason McCarthy who welcomed us to a much anticipated evening. Kevin Green offered a most eloquent and meaningful Invocation and Toast. Our Country Australia. God Save The King!

Over forty Rotarians and partners and friends sat down at a long long table, one that had to be made even longer when more people arrived than were expected for dinner at Nadeem's Laian Restaurant next to St Francis Xavier Cathedral.

A marvellous meal prepared by Nadeem was much appreciated. Syrian/Jordanian dishes that were a true delight saw everyone 'lick' their plates clean. To round out proceedings Nadeem had made some baklava just for the occasion.
After dinner Nadeem shared with us his experience of coming to live in Australia and how he has found his way to Geraldton. Many Rotarians indicated that this was an evening that we should repeat again in the near future.
