Greetings Fellow Rotarians,

First, a big thank you to Yvonne Swanberg for another wonderful program.  Nedell's presentation of "Time Shadows and Tall Tales" was great.  I think that we all learned new details of how the San Juan Islands became U S. territory.

VOCATIONAL SERVICE

I mentioned at the meeting that the Presidential Citation for Clubs focuses on accomplishments related to the four Rotary Avenues of Service;  Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, and International Service.  Thus far, this year we have achieved several notable accomplishments in all Avenues of Service except Vocational Service.

RI lists Project Ideas on their website:

  • Classification talks at club meetings
  • Tours of members' businesses
  • Community career fairs and workshops
  • Mentor young people
  • Promote  ethical behavior in business
  • Volunteer your vocation
  • Create a vocational award program

One thing that we could do to identify possible future projects in this area would be to devote a few meetings to specific topics related to Vocational Service.

Please give some thought to specific Programs that may be appropriate for our club, or better yet, a topic that you would like to present.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Mike
