REMINDER: tomorrow - August 24th - the Rotary Club of Wahpeton Breckenridge will be collecting food at Walmart in Wahpeton. We accept food donations as well as cash.
The Rotary Club of Wahpeton Breckenridge is currently holding our annual Summer Fill the Bus campaign. On Thursday, August 24th, we will have the double-decker bus parked outside of Walmart located at 1625 Commerce Drive, Wahpeton, ND 58075. We accept all food donations as well as cash which is used to directly purchase items in low supply.
The Richland Wilkin County Emergency Food Pantry serves members of our community experiencing short term, immediate hardship. If long-term assistance is required, the trained staff at the pantry assist their neighbors in finding the resources needed. During the summer season the pantry receives lower donation volumes than other times; the Rotary Club of Wahpeton Breckenridge has set up the Summer Fill the Bus campaign to help offset this shortage.
Currently the items in highest demand and lowest supply are as follows:
- pasta sauce / ketchup
- canned vegetables
- canned fruit (lite or in 100% juice please)
- canned meals (ravioli, SpaghettiOs, chili, etc.)
- fruit juice
- ramen noodles
- cake / brownie mixes
- jelly
- hamburger helper
- personal care items (soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc.)
Our next Fill the Bus event will be held at Jubilee Foods in Breckenridge on Monday, September 11th.
