The Staples Rotary Club has an international project to support the BL Tezza Special School for the Deaf. The school is a special needs institution located in Sori Karungu, Kenya, approximately 500 meters from the shores of Lake Victoria. It was founded by Rotarian Millicent Cassianes and registered in 2017 as a government school. The school serves about 176 children ranging from preschool to junior secondary with most suffering from hearing and speech impairments. The students reside full-time on the premises and rely on the school for all essential needs, including food and sanitation.
