You may have already heard the news via social media or via the more traditional grapevine, but if not, I'm thrilled to announce that ShelterBox has been nominated for this year's Nobel Peace Prize! It is a great honour to be nominated and that honour is shared with all our supporters and volunteers around the world; for we are all part of the same global movement, building peace one family at a time.
With an estimated 85 million people currently made homeless by conflict and disaster, we can't afford to rest on our laurels. As the financial year draws to an end, now is an ideal time to make a tax-deductible donation to help disaster-affected families in places like Guatemala and Kenya or those fleeing conflict in Syria, Iraq or the Lake Chad Basin.
If you have already donated, please accept my thanks on behalf of the thousands of families we have helped this year.
This month's quote comes from Nobel Laureate, Betty Williams, "The Nobel Peace Prize is not awarded for what one has done, but hopefully what one will do."
Many thanks for your support,
Mike
