This year we we successfully received a matching District grant of $4000 for further community support to the Assisi Centre in Uganda. Together with the club contribution we transferred $8000 for 3 significant water hygiene, water storage and sanitation projects at three additional Ugandan schools. The work will improve the lives of more than 2000 more students and indirectly improve health outcomes in their broader communities.
Assisi partners with schools in rural Ugandan communities to provide free meals to students, improve learning infrastructures as well as strengthen Hygiene, Water and Sanitation facilities.
Emily Nabakooza Rotary Peace Fellow Graduate has led the delivery of all 3 projects on budget and ahead of time. Emily is operating in a very challenging environment to deliver water security at Ugandan schools and improving the lives and education outcomes for so many students. Our projects have now positively impacted the lives of nearly 5000 students!
