FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
• Neil Wilkie – Neil has had a skin graft after a removal of a skin cancer on his leg. Unfortunately, it has become infected, and he must elevate his leg for the foreseeable future and cannot attend the meetings. Jill visited Neil and June on Saturday and took a basket of goodies given on behalf of the Club. Neil is in fine spirits and would welcome visitors into their new apartment on Broadway; please call June to see if Neil is up for a visit.

- Football tipping: John Bolto reported that Susie Davis was the outright winner of round one. He did not wish to speak about those lower down the ladder…

- On My Feet – You may recall we had a presentation last July from On My Feet. Its slogan is ‘For the long run’. On My Feet is a volunteer-run Australian registered not-for-profit organisation established in November 2014 by Keegan Crage that operates in Perth and Melbourne using a world-first six-month programme that combines education, exercise and employment to solve homelessness. The Charitable Trust donated $7,500 to it. On My Feet commemorated its tenth-anniversary last week and had a party to celebrate. You may remember Vincent who came along for the presentation with the CEO Kath, on that day he said he’d been sober for over 200 days and had run his first marathon. He was not at the party last week as he was still at his new job. His life is just one turned around by this organisation.

- Hyde Park Festival -The editor’s assistant is sorry to have missed out on thanking Mark Khangure, a willing volunteer at the Hyde Park Festival, in the Bulletin last week. Thank you for all your contributions, Mark. Your work is appreciated.
ACTING SERGEANT SESSION:
The Acting Sergeant fined the following members:
- Graeme Sansom, for taking home his badge and running it over in his car. Why? Why?
- Graeme Sansom for taking Ken Ilett’s keys and holding them for ransom so Ken had to catch buses everywhere;
- Win Jones for winning a four-figure sum in Lotto;
- All those members who had a beer before the meeting, but it wasn’t a black beer for St Patrick’s Day;
- Any Eagles or Dockers supporters in the room, whether they tipped them or not.
GUEST SPEAKERS: Vicki Wei, Kshithij Chandrashek and Nicholas Lauw – introduced by Kevin Jackson, who reminded the Club members that Vicky and Kshithij both had helped out at the sorting at Nigel’s place for Cans for Christmas and were a tremendous help.

Nicholas gave an inspiring talk on his time at the week-long RYLA camp in January. It was so much more than learning about leadership skills. The best leader is not the loudest in the room but someone who will listen, learn and grow from other people and their opinions. The week was emotionally and physically demanding, and there were many challenges. At the end of the week, Nicholas felt more confident in his choices and was more prepared to take risks in his life. He thoroughly recommends the camp to anyone who can attend it.

Vicky and Kshithij each spoke about the activities they experienced when in Canberra for the National Youth Science Forum in January. Both wish to follow a STEM career beyond school, and the NYSF opened their eyes to the opportunities beyond school. Kshithij visited Mt Stromlo and undertook encoding activities. Vicky saw a virtual Zoom visit to a scientist abseiling in the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland and enjoyed debating the difficulties surrounding space ethics.
All three speakers appreciated the club's support. Congratulations to each of them on their presentations and on taking opportunities and making the most of them.
