Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, MetSO Perth
Rotary Club of Dalkeith, Presentation and Performance – March 9th
The Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (MetSO) is one of Perth’s longest running and most loved community orchestras. It was established in 1977 to promote and encourage interest in orchestral music, and since then has attracted members from across the Perth metropolitan area - united by a common interest and passion – music.
The MetSO’s unique Young Artist program creates a showcase for Perth's emerging young artists and early career performers. Cliburn Jr. Winner Shuan Hern Lee, Royal Academy Violin Scholarship winner Emmalena Huning, and rising young cello star Max Wung have all come through the MetSO’s Young Artist program in recent years, to name but a few. They can all rely on the MetSO to stage the first public performance of their next major work.

Concert Master Nami Ogishima, accompanied by a number of the MetSO’s most senior players will be attending Dalkeith Rotary on the 9th of March to give a presentation on the orchestra’s wonderful 40+ year history, our very successful Young Artist Program, as well as our latest endeavours for 2020 and beyond including our MetSO Intermediate String Orchestra (The MISO) - providing new orchestral development opportunities for young Perth musicians.

The presentation will be topped off by an intimate theatre in-the-round styled chamber music performance from Nami Ogishima’s New Wave Ensemble - especially for this occasion.
