The Rotary Club of Dalkeith has been busy recently and enjoyed many interesting talks. We heard from Jerry Pilcher Australian Rotary Health speaking about its projects and achievements; Alison Sayer from Homeless Healthcare talking of the fabulous work done by her organisation around Perth and Professor Kliti Grice from Curtin University on Mass Extinction Events. We enjoyed evocative and moving violin playing from one of our newest members, Ann Bray, who told us of her family’s connections to the World Wars and their determination to make the world a kinder place.
Eight volunteers went to Foodbank WA and packed nearly 1,000 dinner and breakfast packs.
Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Perth presented a fabulous concert and we witnessed and heard the amazing talents of this orchestra and the young musicians it encourages and promotes.
Being in Rotary really broadens the mind and allows opportunities to participate in the community’s wellbeing.
