Vocal ensemble Voiceworks is a professionally-directed community choir.  We include both professional and non-professional singers in our choir.  Our members have a wide range of skills and abilities. We are a non-auditioning choir.  We welcome and encourage all newcomers who would like to join us for the enjoyment of singing and making music with a really positive group of people.

We currently have around thirty members who come from all across the metropolitan area.  We are based in Subiaco and rehearse Tuesday evenings from 7 pm – 9.30 pm at the Shenton Park Community Centre on the corner of Onslow and Herbert roads in Shenton Park.

Voiceworks has four ten-week terms each year. Our ensemble performs at the end of each term.  Terms 1 and 3 are concluded with workshop performances and at the end of terms 2 and 4 we perform shows.  Great fun!

Good evening David

As you probably know I met Maggie Wild West at a Christmas Dinner.  She is an artist, actor, theatrical director and producer, choral director etc.

She Runs VOICEWORKS at Subiaco Arts Centre.  She puts on plays as well as directs two choirs.  I was particularly interested to hear that she runs a choir for young people with special needs.  This latter choir has been very beneficial for these special young children.  Her work in this area has been acclaimed, so much so that she has been asked to run a choir for Rock Bay.  This latter organisation has been running support services for the disabled for more than 80 years.

I understand that there will soon be a news feature on TV about this special choir.

Her work has been supported by the Mayor and Council of Subiaco.  She is a friend of our own John Thornton.

She has suggested that she brings along two of her choristers as well as her producer making a total of four.  She will get the two choristers to speak for a few minutes, and then she will give an audio-visual presentation before throwing the meeting open for questions.  She is well aware of the importance of timing and the presentation and questions will take about 20 minutes.

I feel that this will be an entertaining and uplifting meeting.
