Quote(s) of the day:

Mahatma Gandhi’s quotes on human mind and positive thinking

  • “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
  • “We may never be strong enough to be entirely nonviolent in thought, word and deed. But we must keep nonviolence as our goal and make strong progress towards it.”
  • “Change yourself – you are in control.”
  • “When restraint and courtesy are added to strength, the latter becomes irresistible.”
  • “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
  • “If I had no sense of humor, I would long ago have committed suicide.”
  • “It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.”
  • “Your beliefs become your thoughts,
      Your thoughts become your words,
      Your words become your actions,
      Your actions become your habits,
      Your habits become your values,
      Your values become your destiny.”

Food for Thought:

Seaweed is one of the rare plant foods to contain DHA, an essential fatty acid with many health benefits.
Algae such as spirulina and chlorella are also good sources of complete protein.
Two tablespoons (30 ml) of these provide about 8 grams of protein.
In addition, seaweed contains magnesium, riboflavin, manganese, potassium, and good amounts of antioxidants.
But keep in mind that some types of seaweed (such as kelp) are extremely high in iodine, so it’s best not to eat them in large amounts. Iodine is an element that is found naturally in some foods and added to some salt products.
It’s essential for body functions such thyroid regulation, protein synthesis, and proper nervous system development in fetuses and infants.
Some types of seaweed, such as kelp, nori, kombu, and wakame, are great sources of iodine. Some other varieties, such as spirulina, contain less.
Similarly to tempeh, seaweed is often said to be a great source of vitamin B12 for vegans. However, while seaweed does contain a form of vitamin B12, it’s still not clear whether this form is active in humans.
