Dear fellow KGM members,

As I enter the final month of my Presidency, with this last bulletin I would like to express my gratitude to all Club members for having given me the honour and privilege to serve you as your President.

The month of May saw three major events taking place. On the 7thwe had a very successful Vocational Service Awards dinner event where we honoured a total of 85 deserving and dedicated professionals across the vital service sectors – Police Force, Fire Services, Medical Services and also the 41 members of the HKSAR Search & Rescue team who performed spectacularly post the recent Myanmar Earthquake. 

The 65th District Conference took place on 24 & 25 May at the Galaxy International Convention Centre in Macau. The event this year was very interesting and well executed and the venue, sessions and ceremonies were well handled. KGM was honoured to have two of its stalwart members felicitated. PP Nanu Lachman received Rotary International’s prestigious Avenues of Service in Vocational Service Award in honour and recognition of his exceptional commitment to Vocational Services. Additionally, PP Joseph Kwan was the Gold Award winner of the District Rotary Volunteer Award RVA 2025 in honour and recognition of his exceptional commitment to the motto ‘’Service above Self’ as well as volunteerism. Heartiest congratulations to both award winners on behalf of the club, you make us proud!

The month was rounded off by our flagship Annual Fundraising Ball at the Grand Hyatt on 31st May. The theme of the ball followed the Rotary theme of this year ‘The Magic of Rotary’ and the night had everyone spellbound. Everyone had fun and my sincere thanks to PE Deven and all the Ball committee members and others who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event a great success! Our heartfelt gratitude to the Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors, donors and supporters for their contributions, all of which enables us to power on to the next year!

We will have our last regular lunch meeting on 11th June and the handover and Club installation at the luncheon on 25th June. 

As I hand over the baton to PE Deven and his Board, I am confident that KGM will be in good hands and he will take KGM to the next level.
