Greetings dear KGM Members,

We embrace Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Month, a time to reflect on our commitment to creating healthier communities worldwide. Access to clean water and proper sanitation is a fundamental human right, and Rotary clubs across the globe are making a difference through impactful projects.

We had the District 3450 Blood & Organ Donation Day on 9^th March at D-Park, Tsuen Wan in partnership with the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service and the Department of Health to encourage the public to donate Blood, bone marrow and organs. Our Club was a Silver Sponsor and the event was well attended by over 160 persons with 109 people successfully donating blood including yours truly. Of the 743 bags of blood collected all over HK that day, about 15% came from the Rotary event. A service well done! 

The countdown begins for two of our flagship events – The Vocational Service Awards Ceremony on 7^th May and the RCKGM Annual ball on 31^st May. Pls mark your diaries. As the Annual ball is our biggest fundraising event, I request every member to do their part in buying 4 tickets, 2 for member and spouse and 2 for their best friend and spouse. This will go a long way to ensure a full house on the day! We also need members to buy raffle tickets, get prize sponsors, secure advertisements for the brochure and contribute in any way possible to make the event a grand success.

This month also saw voting on the nomination for District Governor 2027 (DGND) and deadline for submission of the District PoA  (People of Action) competition. 

The month will end with Hong Kong hosting the city’s biggest sporting event, the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens. The tournament is all about Teamwork & Fellowship, Resilience & Determination, Global Unity and Inclusion – values which are similar to the principals of Rotary!
