DG  Andrew Hamilton hands over congratulations
Neil does his duty as always

Life member, Paul Harris Fellow, Rotarian Neil Buckley was honoured at being asked to cut the cake and propose a toast to absent friends on Monday night,. So fitting to celebrate the Club's 80th year of service to the  community of Mosgiel and to communities beyond and abroad.
Neil joined the club on the 11th of February back in 1952  that is just on 70 years ago, and until recently continued to be a  active member. That is for a greater part of the 80 years the club has existed.
The footprint of Neil is so prominent in this town, as his spare shoe sits high above our main street as a icon of Mosgiel. Like the butcher's bullock it could do with a bit of a polish.  His contribution to our club and Mosgiel is an example to us all.
Thanks Neil.
Plenty of life in our club at 80
Plenty of life in our club at 80. (80 is only a #)

These pictures say it all. What a great night.
Big thank you to Danna and Mike and their team for coordinating the evening.
It really was an evening of fun, laughter, reminiscing and friendship.
A beautiful meal and some excellent entertainment from Peter Chin and Gladys Hope, accompanied by Heather Clough, brought the evening to a close with a club rendition of
"The Twelve Days of Christmas" that we should be reasonably proud of.

Thank you to District Governor Andrew Hamilton and wife Barbara for joining us. It was fantastic seeing so many familiar faces returning for this event.
HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY Rotary Club of Mosgiel and here's to a long future.

Christmas Gifting Tree
The Christmas Gifting Tree project has run on the Taieri for the past 6 years, and the concept is that every child on the Taieri gets a gift for Christmas. Last year 250 gifts were donated on the Taieri.
Rotary has picked up this event after the closure of the Mosgiel Roundtable chapter.
The opportunity exists for Mosgiel Rotary to join Rotary of Taieri is making a success of this very important community promotion.

What to do……………….
1.   Get along and encourage other to get along to ANZ and take a card from the tree, purchase or make a present for that child, and return it wrapped under the tree at the ANZ before Wednesday, 12 December 2018.  Note : -Warehouse give discount on purchase up to $50, need to show/present the giving tree card.
 2.    The parcel that is then added to the boxes that are distributed by the food bank for Christmas, so that every child gets a present.

Great News

Bob, Irene and Peter have    ' BIG SMILE',      'SO COOL'.

They have raised over $3.500,000
It is great that so many supporters in our community, particularly the Mosgiel and Taieri Rotary members, are showing their generous  support for the project.
