30 friends of OYATI from Mosgiel, Milton and Balclutha Rotary Clubs, Toi Toi Lions along with Trustees had a very productive working bee at Tautuku over the weekend, it was pleasing to have a number of partners join us also. Jobs completed included putting in posts to strengthen the surrounds around some initiative course challenges, replacing weather boards on the garage and main complex, sanding and painting the garage, staining the new boards on the Lions Den and main complex, stacking 30m3 firewood, landscaping around the house and tiding up rubbish around the grounds. Colin Dempster from C Demie Contracting kindly donated his digger and truck for the day which was very helpful and generous. Our thanks to Robin and Ross who toiled all day using their building skills replacing weather boards. At dinner Saturday evening we acknowledged Alan and Wendy Dewe who after 21 years are retiring as Camp Wardens on the 20th October. As a leaving gift we commissioned a painting from a local artist of the Tautuku Peninsula that shows Camp and the Dewes crib on the Peninsula. A great weekend. Thank you, Stephen Woodhead, OYATI.
