Jenny gave us a catch up of what she is now doing for her job – HCA - Health Care Assistant, known as a ‘watch’, at the Dunedin Public Hospital. Jenny gets a text 30minutes before her shift to tell her what she will be doing and where to be. She shared that the most important thing for her to do is to is t strike up conversations about what the patient does as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, Jenny is on ACC at present as an elderly woman grabbed her shoulder while Jenny was helping her. Jenny’s favourite ward is the children’s ward.
