Macy Bisset and her mum, Lynne, attended our last meeting and Macy reported on her year as a Rotary Exchange student in Denmark. What an amazing time she had! During her year, Macy lived with three different Rotary host families and had the opportunity to travel to many places in Europe and Scandinavia. She shared many wonderful experiences with us – these included travelling to Northern Italy on a family ski trip (Macy’s first experience of skiing), holidaying in Spain, class trip to Rome, and a European trip for all the Rotary exchange students.
Macy attended language classes weekly, learning Danish. She even managed to present her final talk to the Rotary Club in Denmark in Danish – an outstanding effort. Macy and her mum were very grateful to the Rotary Club of Milton for their support for her year overseas; she said it was a life-changing experience and has definitely wet her appetite for travel in the future.
We wish Macy all the best as she settles back into year 13 at Taieri College this year.
