CONFERENCE 2017

Glenis gave us an entertaining account of the 9980 Conference held recently in Wanaka, There were many highlights but Gilbert Enoka, manager of the All Blacks was the first. His quote of "Work Hard in Silence, With Success make a Noise" was very good and a motto of the All Blacks. Refugee speakers were Rez Gardi from Kurdhistan and Saklr Munassar from Yemen. Both gave powerful addresses highlighting the plight of countries less fortunate than ourselves. Rez is the current young New Zealander of the year and a qualified lawyer.

The Milton club had a very good presence there and the costumes on Saturday night were excellent. Lots of fun. Next year the Conference will be in Dunedin for new District Governor Bruce Cowan, His Conference is called Beautiful Rotary Unique Cultural Experience. (BRUCE).
