Recently, Rotary and Toastmasters International partnered to host a webinar titled Connect and Inspire Through Storytelling. The recording is just under 54 minutes long and during it a panel of experts gave advice on effective storytelling techniques and discussed how telling stories brings people together. Here are some tips from the webinar:
• If you want to change someone’s mind, first change their heart by connecting through shared experiences.
• Be vulnerable and make your stories personal.
• Find ways to make your story resonate with your audience.
• Turn your experiences into good stories by being present in your daily life.
• Be excited to tell your story at every opportunity you get.
• Continue to edit your story and get feedback on how you tell it.
