Steve Austvold offered the invocation. Kathy A. announced those with perfect attendance for the 2024-25 year: herself, Wally C., Dave J., Katie J., Steve L., Deb M., Cody O., Keith O., and Brian T. Lois J. and her husband also achieved perfect attendance as a couple. Others that maintained excellent attendance included Buzz L. (47 meetings), Ryan W. (46), Steve Andrews and Zack S. (both 44), John M. (43), Hal L. (41) and Holly W. (40). Congratulations! Lisa M. started out the brags and self-imposed fines, telling us that Cande did not have to buy her cell phone as Brian T. and Danyelle gave it to her. As a result, the generous donations of club members were used by Cande to purchase an I-Pad. Katie J. said that we did achieve "Every Rotarian Every Year" status with The Rotary Foundation in 2024-25, which means we achieved an average of $100 per member in giving to the Annual Fund, with every member giving at least $25.00. Thanks from Katie J. and me to everyone for their participation! Finally, Ryan W. contributed in anticipation of a couple things he was going to say while he was talking to us about his second year as president of the club. Jamie L. reminded us to sell peaches. Brian T. told us that he and Zack S. sold about $500 worth of Lucky Duck Derby tickets at the Shop Move'n Groove event last year before the ducks were dropped so hopefully we can match that effort this year. Cody O. also encouraged people to participate in the Habitat build tomorrow. Ryan Welle had all in attendance write on little index cards he handed out their favorite songs at different stages in our lives, with a promise to play some of those songs as background music at weekly meetings before the bell rings. He also challenged himself to propose two new members to our club during this coming year, with a monetary contribution to The Rotary Foundation or the Fergus Falls Rotary Foundation if he doesn't fulfill his commitment. He also said he would donate $50 to one of those causes for every member who in good faith submits a proposed member for admission to the club. Ryan also hopes to average a social every two months and plans on returning to committees or teams to handle duties on a monthly basis. Other desired outcomes include continuing to have fun, promoting the use of Rotary apparel, and continuing to increase our social media presence. |
