After discovering the Broadway Park pavilion was already in use, we met up with Julie Gray and Erik Johnson at Grotto Park on Wednesday, June 2, who talked to us about Summerfest. Live music will start at noon on Friday, June 11th, with the Aaron Simmons Full Band taking the stage at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks will follow at approximately 10:15 p.m. We are encouraged to have the spot we reserved for our club staffed from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 to 5:00 on Saturday. All events are on the RTC Grounds except the parade, which will start at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and wind through downtown. There will be many children activities, including a petting zoo, trampoline bounce, water balloon wars, and a mini-golf course sponsored by the library. When asked the cost of the fireworks, Julie said they are about $6,000, which is a lot better price than if you were trying to set them off on Independence Day.
