Thursday, May 4, 2023, was a beautiful day, made more so for the official groundbreaking for Phase II of the City's river redevelopment, including the construction of a splash pad. Club members will remember that in 2019 Ryan Welle, then President of our Club, undertook an effort to identify what project we wanted to undertake for our centennial anniversary in March of 2021. The Splash Pad was chosen and now, $72,000+ toward our $80,000 goal, we were asked by Mayor Ben Schierer to participate in the ceremony. President Ken Harty offered some remarks on our behalf and then, when it came time to do some shoveling, both he and Bob Russell participated.
