After singing our and the Canadian national anthems Anthony Nordan offered the invocation and Keith Olson led us in song. It was announced that going forward those members who pay for meals when they attend (at least 20 years in Rotary and their combined age and years in Rotary add up to at least 85 and they have requested the Board place them in such status) will be billed rather than paying at the meeting, to reduce the amount of cash we are dealing with each week. Since the discussion at last week's meeting, Club Treasurer Brian Tjaden has provided the very final figures on the 2021 peach sale: $31,400 was paid for 788 lugs (99.5% collected), with only four lugs missing. Expenses were $20,300, bringing the net to $11,100. Thanks to Brian for keeping track of all this!
In our brags and fines segment Mark Bring paid for having to leave the meeting early; Ken Harty reported the arrival of his fifth grandchild; Keith Olson thanks Brian Tjaden for his Herculean efforts to help his son and daughter-in-law find a home to buy; Steve Leitte bragged about Salvation Army's willingness to take food donations; Dave Johnson put in a plug for the now completed Lake Region Threshers Show in Dalton; Jamie Larson encouraged everyone to take their song book and put it in the gray storage box when leaving the meeting; and John MacFarlane reported that his grandson Peter (named after our own Pete Wasberg) had become engaged.
The meeting was dedicated to a discussion of the Club's fundraising and donation budget for the 2020-21 Rotary year.
