Keith Olson offered our invocation, with recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and The Four Way Test preceding and following it respectively. We then gave a standing ovation to Deanna and Bill Aasness of Double A Catering for all their great meals over the years. Deanna remarked it had been 10 years and that they enjoyed serving us. Ryan Welle than reported that some Rotary shirts some members wanted to order were no longer available and that there had also been some changes in pricing; he was trying to touch base with everyone who put in an order to identify any necessary changes. Zack Stach said we will need four volunteers on Tuesday, October 25th for about 2 hours at the United Way offices and then one or two volunteers on Thursday, October 27th, for about an hour. President Ken said we received a thank you card from the United Way.
Keith Olson led off our brags and fines, reporting he will be absent the next two weeks for a hunting trip to Canada and going up to their cabin. Mark Bring contributed for missing a couple meetings while Mary Pettit put in a scooter buck. This writer apologized for an error in the prior week's Rounds, incorrectly referring to Patty Schultz when it should have been Patty Shol (in his defense, they both start with an "s" and end with a letter in the alphabet). Tim Hunt also paid for missing a meeting but in doing so bragged about visiting grandchildren in Virginia. Ken reported he celebrated his 54th birthday the prior day and Tim Hunt added he had a birthday the prior week.
President Ken noted it is World Polio Day on October 24th and we should consider doing something to raise public awareness of this important effort. We then adjourned our meeting at Bethel Lutheran and headed over to the Fergus Falls Fire Station for a tour of it.
