Wally Cole has arranged a presentation by Jeff Niedenthal.  Mr. Niedenthal indicates he has been supporting local government since 2003. He has served on the Chesapeake, Virginia storm water control board, church outreach committee, and as a youth advisor for local and district area groups. Since moving to Minnesota in 2010, he has been serving on his local church council, acting as the area recruiting liaison for the US Naval Academy, and also as the treasurer of his local Basic Political Operating Unit (BPOU), the smallest governing body of Republican (GOP) organizations.  He currently serves as vice-chairman on the Minnesota 7th Congressional District Republican Party Executive Board (CD7).  His political philosophy is centered on a Jeffersonian focus on small government and local control of decision making. He believes that educational decisions should be made at the district level, not mandated by the Department of Education.  Mr. Niedenthal is a Navy veteran of 26 years, having had the privilege of command at sea. He holds a master’s degree in public administration.

A request was made last Friday to the Department of Education to provide a speaker who can also present on Mr. Niedenthal's topic, "Social Studies Benchmark Revision for Public Schools," but at this point it is not known whether that will be possible.
