From Afghanistan to New Zealand The heart rending story of a child “Tampa” refugee who grew up in Aotearoa and is now a Fulbight scholar, highlighting the plight and potential of Refugees everywhere. When the Taliban were at the height of their power in 2001, Abbas Nazari's parents were faced with a choice: stay and face persecution in their homeland, Afghanistan, or seek security for their young children elsewhere. - Remember to contact Julian if you want to assist with the Wellington South Rotary beach clean-up on 30 October at Lyall Bay beach front as part of Keep NZ Beautiful Please Campaign. The plan is to assemble around the Sutherland Road end of Lyall Bay say 9.45-10 am and, based on the number of volunteers, spread out. David Bratt from Wellington South club is shepherding the effort. They hope to do the clean-up for about 4 hours 10am- 2pm. Volunteers are requested to bring their own gloves.If anyone in the club who wishes to help let Julian know and he will liaise with Wellington South on the numbers.
